Tyrique George has completed a medical at Everton.

The Toffees have had a frustrating winter window, having been one of only a few clubs yet to bring anyone in, despite a lack of depth.

Several players have been linked with a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but very few of those have materialised into actual offers.

However, one of the deals which has materialised is Tyrique George’s move from Chelsea, with a medical now completed.

Jack Grealish’s season-ending injury has made it a priority for the Toffees to sign quality and depth in the wide areas, which turned their attention to George.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The teenager has already undergone a medical ahead of a season-long loan move to Merseyside, and Dharmesh Sheth has since reported that it has all gone to plan.

George is now putting the final touches on a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with just less than an hour to go until the window slams shut for English clubs.

So long as the deal is done, Everton could announce the deal past the 7pm cut-off point.

Everton have agreed a buy-option as part of the deal to take him from Stamford Bridge, though whether they trigger that is likely to be dependent on how he fares in the second half of the campaign.

What can Everton fans expect from George?

George will not replace the impact that Grealish had at Everton, but he is still a very smart addition for several reasons.

With Dwight McNeil and Tyler Dibing fighting over a place on the right flank, and the former actually linked with an exit, the Toffees have a distinct lack of pace in that area.

George’s arrival will change that, but the best part of the signing is perhaps the long-term vision.

The 19-year-old has immense potential, and if given regular access to minutes under David Moyes, he would realise that this season.

George has four goals and one assist for Chelsea this season, having made just 13 appearances in all competitions.

The teenager has played just 143 minutes of Premier League football for the Blues this season.
