Sources informed Everton News that the Toffees have scouted Parrott since the start of the season, and it has been an incredible campaign for the Irishman with 21 goals in 28 appearances for AZ Alkmaar.

The Daily Mail have now provided a late transfer update on the Republic of Ireland international as he finds himself involved in the saga between Ricardo Pepi and Fulham – and it is encouraging for Everton.

Troy Parrott tipped to be open to England move this summer

It is said that the AZ Alkmaar No.9 is going nowhere before the 7pm transfer deadline, but will consider a move to England in the summer – when Everton are understood to be ready to spend heavily.

Parrott was of interest to PSV Eindhoven as the Dutch side looked to replace Pepi, who had agreed a £32m move to Fulham before the deal collapsed.

Neither the Irishman nor the American will be changing clubs on transfer deadline day, but the Daily Mail give Everton clear encouragement that he would consider a move to Merseyside this summer.

Everton sound like a match for Troy Parrott

Miguel Delaney of the Independent recently shared what he had heard about the 23-year-old and his future.

It was said that Parrott would consider a club like Everton as the man from Dublin looks to sign for a “top ten, progressive side or upwardly mobile side” in the Premier League.

Delaney said: “From what I’ve heard, him and people around him, if they’re going to the Premier League, they want it to be regular football at a top ten, progressive side or upwardly mobile side.

“They don’t want to be in a situation where they’re suddenly potentially in the Championship in a year and kind of have to think about that, and if they can’t get that, they would love to go to Germany.”

If you could sign one player, who would it be Everton fans? 🤩

With the Toffees currently sitting ninth – six points off fifth place – they certainly tick that box, so it would not surprise us whatsoever to see the AZ Alkmaar talisman end up at Everton this summer.
