Crystal Palace approached Dwight McNeil earlier on Monday in a late attempt to strengthen, just days after David Moyes opted not to bring the Everton No.7 off the bench for the 1-1 draw at Brighton.
Everton requested £20m for the 26-year-old, and Sky Sports believe that asking price has now been met.

Crystal Palace meet £20m Dwight McNeil asking price
Sky Sports now believe that Crystal Palace have offered Everton £20m for the man born in Rochdale.
It is the same fee Everton spent to sign Dwight McNeil from Burnley back in July 2022, and he has since managed to score 15 goals in 120 appearances – also providing 19 assists.
Rob Dorsett said live on Sky Sports: “How often does it happen on deadline day when right at the end, just when we think everything’s gone a little bit quiet, we get a real surprise? We get a big bid, we get a big move from a Premier League club trying to bring somebody in just before the deadline. Well, it happened again today and this time it’s Crystal Palace who’ve made a very late move.
“I understand they’ve made a £20 million pound bid for Everton winger Dwight McNeil. Now we know that there has been some interest in him today and earlier in the window as well, most notably from Nottingham Forest. But Everton were never going to let him go on loan, so this is a trumped effort, I think you have to say, from Crystal Palace. Big bid, £20 million pounds.
“We don’t know however how Everton have responded to that bid yet, but the fact that they are closing in on a deal for Tyrique George – left winger on loan from Chelsea with an option to buy – could be absolutely key here, because if everything goes through and they get George done, they are much more likely to allow Dwight McNeil to go.
“Then it’s the race against time for Palace to get the medicals done, to get the paperwork signed in time for that 7pm deadline. Of course, they can now submit a deal sheet if everybody agrees on the price, including the player and both clubs, which would give them another two hours until 9pm to try and get that deal over the line, but it’s an exciting one, it’s going to go right to the wire. Big breaking news on Sky Sports News on transfer deadline day.”
