West Ham United have enjoyed a fairly fruitful January transfer window and with deadline day now upon us, there are still one or two deals left to be done.

Axel Disasi is close to joining West Ham on a season-long loan very late on deadline day.

Meanwhile, Mads Hermansen is pushing hard to leave West Ham as the clock ticks down in the January transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo has strengthened his ranks with the additions of Taty Castellanos, Pablo Felipe and Adama Traore.

Disasi should be next and if the Chelsea defender joins, the Hammers should have a decent chance of avoiding the drop.

However, the latest news is regarding a player who is set to leave for pastures new.

West Ham left-back set for deadline day exit

While the Hammers are close to making it four new signings in the January window, there have been plenty of exits as well.

And it seems as though another outgoing is set to be announced shortly.

Talented West Ham youngster Chukwuemeka Fortune Adiele was being chased by Juventus and Borussia Dortmund on transfer deadline day.

However, FC Utrecht have won the race for the 18-year-old’s signature, according to a report from De Telegraaf.

Adiele is set to undergo a medical ahead of his deadline day move to Utrecht and will pen a four-year deal with the Dutch outfit.

The teenage talent, commonly known as Emeka Adiele, has impressed with the Hammers youth team this season, with five goals and 10 assists to his name in 20 games (Transfermarkt).

Emeka Adiele to leave West Ham

The London-born starlet is a left-back by trade, but he has mostly been deployed as a left winger for the under-21s this season.

He seemed to be very happy at the London Stadium as well.

However, he was due to be out of contract with the Hammers in the summer, and the promise of regular action with Utrecht has obviously proven too difficult to turn down for Adiele.

Ironically, Adiele could be set to replace Souffian El Karouani at Utrecht – a player who has been heavily linked with West Ham throughout the January window.

It’s a shame for West Ham to lose a talented young player like Adiele so late on transfer deadline day.

However, with Ollie Scarles and El Hadji Malick Diouf currently at West Ham, his path to the first-team was clearly blocked.
