Manchester United may secure a transfer exit before Monday’s 7pm deadline
With time running out before Monday’s transfer deadline, Manchester United and head coach Michael Carrick have limited time remaining if they are to make additions to the Red Devils’ squad to aid in their target of reaching the Champions League this season.
United have won three matches out of three in the Premier League under Carrick but have had a quiet January transfer window thus far without any major incomings or outgoings from the first-team squad, though several loan deals for youngsters have been agreed.
The Red Devils are believed only to have been considering mid-season arrivals who have been long-term targets of the club to immediately improve the first-team squad. Meanwhile, on the exits front, a deal has reportedly been ‘agreed’ to sell youngster Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher to Leeds on a permanent transfer.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has made seven appearances for United’s Under-18 side this season but is now expected to arrive at Elland Road on Deadline Day.
Leeds complete Old Trafford ‘raid’ for midfield starlet
According to reports by journalist Pete O’Rourke on X, Leeds have ‘raided’ their traditional rivals Man United to sign the highly-rated midfielder on a permanent basis. The details of a transfer fee are not yet known for the teenager.
Ibrovic-Fletcher was born in Leeds but represents Serbia at youth international level, appearing for them at U16 and U19 level.
The 2008-born midfielder signed his Man United scholarship in 2025 but evidently sees a faster pathway to the first team at Leeds, amidst the talented crop of young midfielders of a similar age profile currently ahead of him in the pecking order at Old Trafford, including Kobbie Mainoo and twin brothers Jack and Tyler Fletcher.
It remains to be seen whether United will look to complete any last-minute transfer deals as the Monday evening deadline edges ever closer.
