Crystal Palace are closing in on signing the Everton winger.

Everton have agreed the sale of Dwight McNeil at the 11th hour of transfer deadline day.

The Toffees have agreed to sell the winger to Crystal Palace on loan with an obligation to buy for £20 million. However, Palace face a race against time to get the transfer done.

McNeil is undergoing a medical ahead of a proposed move to Selhurst Park. Palace have submitted a deal sheet so they have until 21.00 GMT to finalise the deal.

The 26-year-old has found himself down the pecking order at Everton this season, with Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish being manager David Moyes’ preferred wingers. McNeil has made 18 appearances in all competitions but started only seven Premier League matches.

Although Grealish has suffered a fractured foot, the Blues are poised to announce the arrival of Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea, which would leave McNeil out of favour.

With 18 months left on his deal, Everton have opted to cash in on McNeil. Should the deal go through, the Toffees are set to recoup the £20 million that they paid to sign the former England under-21 international from Burnley in 2021.
