Crystal Palace smash their transfer record ahead of Brighton - and another deal sheet is in

All the latest transfer deadline day news for Brighton and Hove Albion and across the Premier League

The big-money move of Wolves forward Jorgen Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace will go ahead for around £50m.

Palace made a decisive move for Strand Larsen late in the window and it now appears Jean-Philippe Mateta will stay having previously granted the striker’s wish to leave the club in this winter transfer window.

However, Mateta’s proposed deadline-day switch to Serie A giants AC Milan has fallen through and he will now remain with the Eagles.

Both could now be available to face Brighton at the Amex Stadium this Saturday.

Palace will reportedly pay an initial £43m for the highly-rated Norway international with a further £5m included in the deal as add-ons.

Dwight McNeil bid accepted

Palace have also seen their £20m offer for Dwight McNeil accepted by Everton and a deal sheet has gone in to ensure that deal gets across the line in the next two hours.

Wolves will allow the 25-year-old to depart and the fee from Strand Larsen’s exit will help fund moves for Angel Gomes of Marseille and Southampton forward Adam Armstrong.

Palace later confirmed forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi had joined Stoke on loan until the end of the season. The 23-year-old has made six Premier League appearances for the Eagles.

Brighton welcome Palace to the Amez Stadium this Sunday for a 2pm kick-off. Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton are 13th in the league standings and Palace are 15th.
