Adingra has joined Monaco on loan until the end of the season, with Sunderland confirming the Ligue 1 and Champions League club then have the option to make the transfer permanent in the summer.
Adingra only signed for the Black Cats in the summer but has made a slow start to life on Wearside, and sporting director Kristjaan Speakman said the move to Monaco suits all parties.

He said: “When considering the balance and priorities of the squad, we felt this was a mutually agreeable opportunity that ensures Simon plays regularly throughout the second part of the season.
"The stature of this move represents the quality and professional characteristics he possesses, in addition to his motivation to play every week. We wish Simon well and will monitor his progress closely.”
Adingra's exit, which followed Adil Aouchiche completing his switch to Schalke, will allow Sunderland to complete the signing of Angula, who will become the second new addition of the window following Jocelin Ta Bi.
