Tottenham captain Cristian Romero has issued a rallying statement following Thomas Frank's side's 2-2 draw against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, while also making a dig at the club's lack of transfer activity. A valiant performance saw the Lilywhites come from a two-goal deficit to pick up a crucial point in their bid to climb up the Premier League table.
But Romero has acknowledged that more still needs to be done to repair the club's relationship with a disgruntled fanbase, while taking aim at the ownership's lack of reinforcements in the January transfer window.

After explaining why he missed out on the weekend’s action, Romero appeared to aim a thinly veiled jab at ENIC’s lack of urgency in the transfer market, with Tottenham still looking thin on the ground when it comes to squad depth. He wrote on Instagram (see the full statement below): "Great effort from all my teammates yesterday, they were incredible.
"I wanted to be available to help them even though I wasn’t feeling well, especially since we only had 11 players available - unbelievable but true and disgraceful. We’ll keep showing up and taking responsibility to turn this around, working hard and staying together. All that’s left is to thank all of you for being there and for always supporting us, the fans."
