David Moyes releases statement after Everton complete signing of Tyrique George

Everton have signed Tyrique George from Chelsea on deadline day.

Everton had to submit a deal sheet for George to allow themselves an extra two hours after the 7pm deadline to complete the deal.

Tyrique George is aiming for Europe

George touched on his ambitions for the remainder of the season, with the focus very much on returning Everton to Europe for the first time since 2017.

“Getting European football for next season is a good target for us and I know everyone will be working hard to achieve it,” the teenager said.

“I want to come here and help the team win as many games as possible and keep climbing up the table.”

It’s understood that George’s potential buy-clause will be dictated by appearances, so it will be higher with the more games he plays.

The England under-21 international could make his debut against Fulham this weekend.
