19 has been vacant since 2024 – when Vitaliy Mykolenko wore it – but perhaps the most iconic wearer of the number was James Rodriguez.
The former Toffees playmaker enjoyed a productive season in 2020/21 with 19 on his back, netting six goals whilst laying on nine assists.
George will certainly be hopeful of replicating that form.
What Everton players have worn the number 19 recently?
As well as Rodriguez and Mykolenko, Gerard Deulofeu is another notable wearer of the number 19 strip.
The Spaniard donned it in 2015/16, and he registered a whopping 12 assists that season, so that could be a good omen for George.
Aside from that, the number hasn’t really been held by too many great players over the last decade, though.
