Eddie Howe Confirms Newcastle United Star Is Set To Miss 9 More Games

**Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe says he is hoping to have Tino Livramento back in action by “early March.”**

The 23-year-old sustained a hamstring injury during the FA Cup third round penalty shootout win over AFC Bournemouth in early January, and asked for an update on his recovery, Howe said:

“He’s doing well. I believe he’s having a scan today, a second scan to see the progress of his hamstring. Fingers crossed it’s good news, and I think if it is, he’ll be back running outside.”

“I think we’re still probably five to six weeks away. We’re looking at an early March return, providing everything goes well.”

Livramento will be sidelined for 9 more matches

The England international has been ruled out for the Premier League fixtures against Brentford (h), Tottenham (a), Manchester City (a), Everton (h) and Manchester United (h).

Needless to say, [**Livramento**](https://newcastleunitednews.org/blog/newcastle-transfer-news-oscar-mingueza-livramento/) won’t be available for the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against City on Wednesday night.

He has also been ruled out of contention for both legs of the Champions League playoff versus Qarabag as well as the FA Cup tie against Aston Villa later this month. The league clash versus Chelsea on March 14th is probably the earliest date that fans could see him return to action.

In addition to Livramento, Howe also has six other players on the treatment table. Sven Botman (thigh) and Lewis Miley (knee) are carrying knocks, but they should be fit to play in upcoming games.

Captain Bruno Guimaraes (ankle) is also close to returning, with Howe suggesting there is a “chance” he could play on Wednesday.

Joelinton (groin) and Emil Krafth (knee) are on the comeback trail, but Fabian Schar (ankle) has been ruled out until April.
