The dust is beginning to settle on what proved to be a rather underwhelming January transfer window for Manchester United.
The Reds accomplished little in terms of securing new signings. However, it has been a significant month at Old Trafford for various other reasons.
Ruben Amorim was dismissed at the beginning of January, with Michael Carrick taking over as caretaker head coach for the rest of the campaign. Whilst many supporters were keen to see whether the 44-year-old would delve into the winter market for additions, Carrick instead focused entirely on delivering results on the field.
Carrick presided over a commanding 2-0 triumph against Manchester City in his opening fixture at the helm, before dismantling Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium the subsequent week. A battling 3-2 victory over Fulham followed on Sunday afternoon, as Carrick maintained a perfect record of three wins from three matches.
Whilst no senior signings were finalised on Monday evening, several transactions involving academy players were completed. However, there were reports of discontent from one first-team squad member following Jason Wilcox allegedly preventing a departure from Manchester United.
Here, Manchester Evening News examines some of the most significant developments from the transfer sphere concerning Manchester United.

Sam Mather moved to Kayserispor in a permanent transfer on January 17, having been with United since he was seven years old. Following successful loan periods with Rochdale and Tranmere Rovers, the 21-year-old secured his switch to the Turkish Super Lig halfway through the window on a free transfer.
Nevertheless, a clause in his deal ensures that United will receive a 20 per cent share of any future sale concerning the winger. Joe Hugill, meanwhile, departed the Red Devils for an undisclosed sum, signing with Scottish Premiership contenders Kilmarnock.
The 22-year-old forward arrived at Old Trafford in 2020, but couldn't establish himself at senior level - instead experiencing loan spells with Burton Albion, Wigan Athletic, Carlisle United and Barnet.
Defender Rhys Bennett also moved to Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed amount, having spent 2024/25 with the club.
Loan deals for five more
Harry Amass moved to Norwich City for the remainder of the campaign, before sustaining a 'serious' injury during training. The 18-year-old left-back had previously experienced a loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday.
Defensive midfielder Toby Collyer, 22, also switched from West Bromwich Albion to Hull City for the rest of the season, whilst Ethan Wheatley headed to Bradford City on loan for the remainder of 2025/26. The 20-year-old forward had previously experienced a loan with Northampton Town.
A minute before Monday's 7pm deadline, James Scanlon joined Swindon Town on loan for the rest of the season. The 19-year-old versatile attacking midfielder will experience his first taste of competitive senior football with the Robins.
Gabriele Biancheri also secured his first loan move away from United. The 19-year-old forward has joined Rotherham until the summer.

Tyrell Malacia was left furious with Manchester United on Monday afternoon, as Wilcox allegedly blocked a deadline day transfer to Turkey as the full back was preparing to board a flight. The 26-year-old has been side-lined with the Red Devils this season, with only one Premier League appearance to his name for 2025/26.
Despite reports, Mirror Football understands that there was no deal or travel arranged between the player and the club in recent weeks. The Dutch defender could also become part of Michael Carrick's plans for the remainder of the season, given United's position on utilising him may have shifted as a result of Patrick Dorgu's recent injury.
Dorgu sustained an issue during United's 3-2 victory over Arsenal last month, with reports indicating he could be side-lined for up to 10 weeks.
