Everton managed to end the transfer window with one new signing, with Tyrique George arriving on loan from Chelsea.
After the injury to Jack Grealish, the Toffees were forced to respond – and moved to sign highly rated English talent George on loan until the end of the season.
Everton required a deal sheet to get the deal for George over the line, but thankfully it did go through.

It’s a move that many Evertonians have backed.
The general feeling has been that Everton don’t have much pace or directness in the wide areas, but George certainly has those traits.
With the dust now settled after the mid-season window, Everton News looks at the winners and losers of this deal.
Let us know what your advice to Tyrique George would be after signing for Everton… 🤔

Winners
David Moyes

The Everton manager will have been pained to lose Grealish, who has been a source of creativity for the Toffees.
But in George, he has a very bright young player who will be determined to make an impression having struggled for game time at Chelsea.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
We know there are non-negotiables for Moyes and one of those is work rate and defensive responsibilities – which are things George does not shirk.
Thierno Barry and Beto
The main thing with George though is his ability to be a threat in the final third.
George is someone who’ll be direct and look to get beyond his full-back, and then deliver the ball into the box.
At times this season, Thierno Barry and Beto have not received adequate service. But George has that unpredictability that should see both of Everton’s strikers benefit.
Between them they haven’t scored enough goals this term, but perhaps the lively George can help with this.
Losers
Tyler Dibling

Tyler Dibling has already had a hard time convincing Moyes to give him minutes and this move may impact him negatively.
George primarily plays on the left wing, so that is likely going to see Iliman Ndiaye move over to the right side, which is a position we know he’s comfortable in.
There is also the potential for Moyes to just play George on the right.
Either way, Dibling now has more competition. The injury to Grealish seemed like it could be his catalyst. It could yet prove to be. But the arrival of another top young English talent in George might make life difficult.
Adam Aznou
Quite possibly, this deal is not ideal for Adam Aznou.
Aznou has struggled for minutes at Everton with Moyes preferring the experience of Vitality Mykolenko.

He’s also now behind Jarrad Branthwaite in the pecking order.
Potentially, Aznou might have gotten some minutes playing as a left winger following the injury to Grealish, as he is very attack-minded.
But the arrival of George surely lowers Aznou’s chances of getting minutes even playing further forward.
