Newcastle United conclude January transfer window business with 9 deals and 1 pending

The January transfer window business has now been concluded by Newcastle United.

At 7pm on Monday (2 February 2026) the window finally closed.

For Premier League clubs the ‘fun’ will begin again on Monday 15 June, when the summer 2026 transfer window opens.

That runs through until Monday 31 August 2026.

With no more new deals now allowed during this season, we can now review the window just closed.

The Newcastle United completed January transfer window deals:

IN:

…………

OUT:

Antonio Cordero on loan to Cadiz

Joe Brayson on loan to Morpeth Town

Ben Parkinson sold to Falkirk (undisclosed fee)

Harrison Ashby on loan to Bradford City

Joe White on loan to Bradford City

Cathal Heffernan sold to Harrogate Town (undisclosed fee)

Tyler Jones on loan to Dunston UTS

Charlie McArthur on loan to Airdrie

Max Thompson on loan to Ayr United

So, the ‘final’ count is nine completed outgoing January transfer window deals for Newcastle United and zero incoming deals.

However, that final count will shortly become ten.

Jamaal Lascelles is heading to Leicester City and various media, including Sky Sports, report that Newcastle United and Leicester completed all the necessary paperwork in time.

However, the announcement has simply been delayed, due to the EFL HQ having so many deals to process on deadline day, meaning the Jamaal Lascelles transfer is expected to be officially announced this Tuesday morning.

Sky Sports are reporting that the Jamaal Lascelles move will be a loan deal, but with Lascelles set to see his United contract end on 30 June 2026, it is effectively the former NUFC captain’s permanent farewell to Newcastle United.

The story of this January transfer window for Newcastle United is basically no significant deals whatsoever, in or out.

Jamaal Lascelles needed a new club as his time at SJP had ended and he was no longer part of first team plans, whilst the nine outgoing deals confirmed previously, had all been young players also not involved with the first team, at least not this season.
