West Ham’s wonderkid 2.0 has landed | West Ham News

Amongst all the gloomy pontifications of a deadline day without new signings – until the on-off-on-off loan deal for Axel Disasi went into overtime, one small but possibly significant event took place away from the main media spotlight: [West Ham’s](https://www.claretandhugh.info/absentee-from-u21s-squad-fuels-nuno-call-up-rumour-west-ham-news/) latest ‘wonderkid’ made his debut for the under 21’s.

Keiber Lamadrid, the Venezuelan 22 year old who has inherited Luis Guilherme’s ‘_wonderkid_‘ status – provided a 45 minute cameo for a YouTube audience seemingly largely teeming with Venezuelan viewers last night as West Ham’s development side travelled to Middlesboro u21’s.

And of course, **Lamadrid** scored on his debut. Whoever writes his scripts was on fine form last night as the debutant scored with a left footed shot from the ‘D’ to put the Hammers two up in a crazy, five goal first half.

Whilst the young man is still in his own pre-season fitness wise, he showed fine touches and some decent speed and impressed spectators and tv audience alike

Have the feeling we’ll be hearing a lot more about this young talent who came on a six month loan with option to purchase. As he told [BBC.co.uk](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cje11ywy0qyo) when he signed:

_“I’m excited to grow as a person, as a player, and I want to do well at this club. I want to adapt as quickly as possible, to continue growing as a player and open doors again for Venezuelan football. Nothing is impossible_”

From first showing last night, he’s well on the way.
