Manchester United are reportedly in talks to re-sign Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo in a sensational summer deal, with the Portuguese legend seeking a move back to Europe, according to Fichajes.
Ronaldo was one of the first players to make the move to Saudi Arabia, and he was the catalyst for a host of stars to join him in the Middle East. Despite being 40 years old, Ronaldo is still finding the back of the net regularly, and he's showing no signs of being willing to hang up his boots just yet.
Ronaldo has already returned to Old Trafford once before, rejoining the club during the 2021/2022 season, where he scored 18 Premier League goals in 30 games. His contract was later terminated during the following campaign, allowing him to make the move to Saudi Arabia.
Man Utd in Talks for Shock Move

According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United are in talks with one of their former stars, Ronaldo, over a sensational move in the summer transfer window. The 40-year-old reportedly has a €50m release clause in his contract, while Ronaldo wants to end his career at Old Trafford.
Talks between the two parties are said to be progressing towards an agreement, with Ronaldo willing to make a big financial sacrifice from his hefty wages in Saudi Arabia. The Red Devils are waiting until the end of the Saudi Arabian season to finalise a move, with Ronaldo edging closer to a possible return to Manchester.
It would certainly be a huge surprise to see Ronaldo return to Europe at his age, and even more surprising if he signs for United for the third time.
Man Utd Need to Avoid These Signings
Cristiano Ronaldo
If Manchester United want to progress, signing players of Ronaldo's profile isn't the way to go about it. The Portuguese international will be demanding significant wages, even if taking a pay cut, and at the age of 40, he isn't the player he once was.
Ronaldo has been playing in a league that is a much lower standard than the Premier League over the last few years, so he's unlikely to hit the levels we've seen of him previously.
