Sunderland Women have signed Mared Griffiths on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season.
Griffiths made her senior debut on February 8, 2025, netting two goals against Wolves in the FA Cup, and went on to sign her first professional contract with Manchester United in July 2025.
Her senior international debut for Wales came as a substitute against Italy in the 2025 UEFA Women’s Nations League. She scored her first international goal last October against Australia.
Head coach Mel Reay told safc.com: “We’re delighted to add Mared to our squad for the rest of the season. She’s an exciting, attacking young player who’s ready to take the next step into senior football and we hope we can help her to do that while allowing her to contribute effectively to our team.”
