Brandon Williams has left Hull City five months into his one-year contract.
After a difficult 20 months without a competitive game, former Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams made his return to football.
Williams joined Hull City in the Championship on a one-year deal after being released by United and receiving a suspended 14-month jail term, suspended for two years, for dangerous driving.
After a long period out of the game, Williams had a successful trial at Hull City before they offered him permanent terms.

Williams had shown promise after graduating from United’s academy when he made his debut under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in September 2019, but he was unable to cement a place in the team.
Unfortunately for Williams, his spell at Hull City has not quite gone as planned.

There was an option in Williams’ contract for a second season, but the former United star didn’t even last one campaign with the Championship outfit.
A statement from Hull City read: “Hull City can confirm that full-back Brandon Williams has left the club by mutual agreement.
“The 25-year-old’s only first-team appearance after joining the Tigers last August came as a substitute in the Sky Bet Championship home defeat to Blackburn Rovers later that month.
“We would like to thank Brandon for his efforts during his time at the MKM Stadium and wish him all the best for his future career.”
Williams made one appearance for Hull City – a five-minute cameo in a 3-0 defeat against Blackburn Rovers. He was named in the matchday squad six times during his tenure, but a persistent calf injury didn’t help on that front.
Hull City are one of the strongest teams in the Championship, sitting third as things stand, but Williams was unable to revive his career there.

It raises questions over where Williams will go next because there’s unlikely to be many Championship clubs willing to take a risk on a player who couldn’t stay fit at Hull.
Brandon Williams’ best moment in a Man Utd shirt
With United trailing 2-0 against Sheffield United in November 2019, Williams sparked a comeback as the game ended 3-3.
Williams scored his first senior goal when he met a cross with a perfectly timed, half-volley.
Three United academy graduates scored on the day, including Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford.
