Sekou Kone joins Lausanne-Sport on loan
United have allowed another talented prospect to leave the club until the end of the season.
Sending young players like James Scanlon and Jacob Devaney out on loan is a great way to test them in first-team environments.

One youngster who needs to be tested on the senior stage is Sekou Kone.
The young midfielder was signed by United in the summer of 2024, but has only featured for the first team during the club’s post-season tour of Asia.
Today, it was confirmed by United that Kone has joined the Swiss side Lausanne-Sport on loan until the end of the season.
The deal is subject to international clearance, but it means Kone will get a chance to taste first-team football in the Swiss Super League.
The Ineos-owned Swiss club are currently seventh in the Swiss League, with hopes of securing European qualification for next season.
Kone will not be the only United loanee playing at Lausanne-Sport as he will be joined by Enzo Kana-Biyik.
A statement from Lausanne read: “FC Lausanne-Sport is delighted to announce the loan signing of Malian defensive midfielder Sékou Koné from Manchester United until the end of the 2025-2026 season.”

Amad and Chido Obi react to Sekou Kone’s loan move
United fans will be eager to see how Kone does at Lausanne for the remainder of the season.
Kone will be tested by senior players on a weekly basis, but the standard won’t be as high as the Premier League.
A number of his teammates at United have reacted to his loan move with comments on Instagram
Kone uploaded a picture in a Lausanne jersey, with the caption: “It’s relaunched, but no noise and turn up the volume in silence. Inshalahh.”
United first team star Amad replied: “Good luck son, smash everything.”
In a separate post shared by Lausanne, Chido Obi sent a fire emoji to wish his teammate well on loan.
