Cristiano Ronaldo's stint in the Saudi Pro League looks to be drawing to a close, and if the bookmakers are to be believed, his next move has already been mapped out. The Manchester United icon is rumoured to be departing Al-Nassr, with whispers even suggesting the Portuguese superstar has gone on strike.

The drama is thought to be linked to former Real Madrid team-mate Karim Benzema's switch from Al-Ittihad to Al-Hilal, with Ronaldo reportedly furious at Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), according to sources. The 40 year old is said to be unhappy with how PIF - which holds stakes in both Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal - facilitated such a transfer, and was notably absent from his side's victory over Al-Riyadh yesterday.

Ronaldo, who is pursuing 1,000 career goals, will undoubtedly attract plenty of interest, and the odds from bookmakers Ladbrokes point towards a move to Major League Soccer. The prospect of reigniting his rivalry with Lionel Messi would thrill countless supporters - or perhaps David Beckham could bring the pair together at Inter Miami - and at 6/4, there's a genuine possibility this could materialise, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes commented: "It seems the end of the road is nearing for Ronaldo's Saudi adventure. The betting suggests a switch to the MLS is on the cards, but we are seeing interesting money on the Portuguese icon hanging up his boots."

Other options include a move from Al-Nassr to another league rival at 7/4, but the odds suggest a slim chance of Ronaldo retiring at 3/1. However, with just over 50 goals left to reach 1000 career goals, it seems unlikely that CR7 will bid farewell to the game anytime soon.
