Aston Villa and Newcastle make huge offer to sign Real Madrid defender

Aston Villa and Newcastle United are already making plans for the summer transfer window and have made a bid to sign Real Madrid centre-back Dean Huijsen, according to reports in Spain.

The January transfer window may have only just closed, but talk has already turned to the summer window and a move to bring Huijsen back to the Premier League is already underway, according to Fichajes.

Huijsen left Bournemouth last summer to complete a £50million move to the Santiago Bernabeu and has played 24 games for Los Blancos this season, scoring once.

Real Madrid Will Demand More To Sell Dean Huijsen

The 20-year-old is reportedly playing through the pain barrier with a calf issue and has not reached his full potential for Real Madrid and some supporters have already turned on him.

He was booed by his own fans during the 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano last time out and could call time on his Real career after just one year.

At 20 years old he was brought in not just for the now, but for Real's future and a bid of £34.5million from both clubs is unlikely to tempt the Spanish giants into selling.

If they are to sell, they will want to recoup the £50million they splashed out on him last summer, given his value is unlikely to have depreciated in that year.

Huijsen had come close to signing for Chelsea before Real Madrid came calling last summer and he explained the reasoning behind his transfer by simply saying: "Why Real Madrid? Well, it's just the best club in the world. I'm not here to not win titles, I'm here to win a lot. This is the big club."

Huijsen Has All The Attributes To Shine At The Bernabeu

Real Madrid legend Manolo Sanchis urged caution over criticism for the young defender's performances at the Bernabeu, describing Huijsen as "tremendous" while also highlighting that as a young player he naturally still has weaknesses that will be ironed out over time. Speaking to AS, Sanchis said: "He is a footballer with fantastic qualities to play as a central defender. I am fascinated by his tremendous ability in ball distribution and he is intuitive, something that is very important at Madrid.

"It is clear that he has weaknesses, although he has the age and the skills to improve them and become a great defender. He has had some weaker matches, such as against Liverpool, Sevilla, and a few others against big teams, in which he struggled physically and at certain times was weaker with the ball, but his foundation is magnificent and I am convinced that he will become a very important player for Madrid in the coming years."
