The team is performing very good right now. The Reds may not really need another goalkeeper at the moment. However, they can really use a good backup goalkeeper too. Mckenna can really be a very great backup goalkeeper as well. Mckenna is one of the best out there in the Premier League right now too. Bournemouth are also performing pretty well at the moment too. He speaks about how Manchester United wanted him but he did not want to go.
What did Mckenna say about Manchester United?
“I travelled to Manchester and met the people from Manchester Unitedthe day before deadline day. That night, I had the Zoom call and was invested in coming here. The following morning, the guys from United came to take me to the training ground and I told them it wasn’t what I wanted. “They tried their best to persuade me, but I wanted to come here.” McKenna admitted that Bournemouth’s history of platforming goalkeepers in the first team was a key reason in his decision to join the club. “I thought I would be closer to the first team and you only need to look at some of the goalkeepers Bournemouth have brought through, like Mark Travers and Aaron Ramsdale. You want to follow in their footsteps.
He said it was perfect:
“Coming here sounded perfect and it has been so far. It’s not just about the badge or saying you play for this or that team, that’s for later in my career. Hopefully in 20 years’ time, you can say you’ve done X, Y or Z. But for the here and now, Bournemouth is perfect for me. It was difficult to adjust at the start, but I love it now. “This is my life now and I feel I’m progressing well so, hopefully, I can continue to do that. Hopefully coming here will put me on the way to eventually playing in the Premier League.”
Since joining, he’s mainly featured for the club’s youth team but has been on the bench for several Premier League matches. When he signed a new contract with Bournemouth FC, he said “I’m delighted to sign a new deal with the club, who have been brilliant for me since I arrived. I feel like I’m improving every day working with the coaches and goalkeepers here. “Being able to learn off experienced shot-stoppers like Djordje Petrovic has really helped my game and I’m looking forward to seeing what I can achieve in the coming years here as I further my development.”

How good are Manchester United right now?
Another goalkeeper is not really needed for Manchester United to be honest. The team have been trying to make sure they win their matches comfortably. If they keep their consistency high and winning matches then they can stay on the UEFA Champions League spot of course. They can actually win the Premier League too next time if they keep performing so well too this time as well. Michael Carrick has really been a very great coach for the Reds of course. He can definitely become the permanent coach for the team if he continues like this as well. Manchester United really have to try and sign a good backup goalkeeper next time. This will really help the team as well.
