'I'd like to see': Tyler Dibling offered key piece of advice amid Tyrique George signing for…

Everton completed a loan move for Tyrique George on transfer deadline day, and it’ll be interesting to see how the move will impact Tyler Dibling.

Everton signed the youngster from Chelsea on a deal until the end of the season, and will have an option to buy him.

It means David Moyes now has four wing options again. He was almost left with just three when it looked like Dwight McNeil was going to leave for Crystal Palace, but that move dramatically fell through.

Big things are expected of George, who should provide something quite different to the others.

Undoubtedly he’s the fastest wide player at the club now.

He will perhaps hope to have a better start than Tyler Dibling, who is still struggling to convince Moyes to start him regularly.

Let us know what your advice to Tyrique George would be after signing for Everton… 🤔

Alan Stubbs shares some advice for Everton’s Tyler Dibling

Dibling has certainly had a lukewarm start to life at Everton.

The teenager arrived in the summer for around £40 million, and has struggled to make a proper impact so far.

He’s only made a handful of starts, which is perhaps not helping him to build momentum. But one does wonder why Moyes hasn’t felt obliged to start him, especially given the poor form of Dwight McNeil.

George has now signed for Everton, and that’s more competition for Dibling.

But last night, Alan Stubbs shared what the former Southampton gem needs to do to improve.

He said (BBC Radio 5 Live): “I think if anything, Dibling has took a bit of time to settle. By all reports, he’s missing home, he’s had a few appearances. You’re seeing glimpses rather than performance where you go ‘Wow’.

“I think he’s taken a lot longer than he would have hoped, what fans would have hoped to settle down. You’ve just got to be careful that you don’t send them backwards by putting them in when they’re not necessarily ready.

“It seems crazy when you’re talking about £40m and not being ready. But 19 years old is still a young age in comparison to some of the players he’s playing with

“Does he have to do more? Of course he does. There’s no doubt about that. For me, I’d be saying to him ‘Listen, every time you get the ball, be positive, if you lose it’. I’d like to see him attack defenders more. He looks at the moment like he’s a bit more concerned about keeping the ball, rather than trying to create something.”

Time for Dibling to step up

It hasn’t been an easy start to life at Everton for Dibling, but perhaps the second half of the season will bear more fruit for him.

He’s had enough time to get to know his teammates and the way the team plays now, and it’s time that he stepped up.

How would you describe David Moyes’ handling of Tyler Dibling so far? 😕

Perhaps Stubbs is right to call for more bravery on the ball from Dibling. That said, he might have been told to recycle the ball more, although hopefully that is not the case, as he’s a player with technical quality who needs to be expressive.

Maybe the arrival of George, who says he’s looking forward to playing with Dibling, will actually light a fire beneath him.

If the new signing starts well, this may make Dibling more determined to pick up his own form so that Everton have two young English talents shining at once.
