Man Utd wonderkid just sent a clear response to Ruben Amorim’s academy jibe with ‘uncomfortable’ vow

Ruben Amorim has been out of a job for almost a month now since his Man Utd sacking, but he continues to look worse with every development since then.

Not only has Michael Carrick won games with the same squad, as if it were the easiest thing in the world, but the players he ostracised, like Kobbie Mainoo, are at the peak of their powers.

Mainoo encapsulated Ruben Amorim’s uneasy relationship with the Man Utd academy, which led to an infamous rant about the mentality of the club’s youngsters.

A month on from his sacking, another Man Utd wonderkid has just sent a clear response to his concerning comments about the academy by making an ‘uncomfortable’ vow.

Gabriele Biancheri’s ‘uncomfortable’ vow

Among the strikers at Carrington, Gabriele Biancheri was second only to Chido Obi in terms of how highly he was rated, and he was making a good fist of that fight too.

In fact, when Amorim threw a dig at Obi that he wasn’t even starting for the U21s, it was because Biancheri was on a tear for the side.

Biancheri scored for fun in the academy, and those exploits weren’t going unnoticed in the wider footballing world.

He drew interest from the likes of Real Betis and Como, two attack-minded teams in Europe who play more to his style of play.

However, Biancheri rejected those permanent offers and instead bet on himself to prove himself at League One side Rotherham.

Rotherham, who are struggling in the third division, which already claimed the season of Jack Moorhouse, is the most difficult choice he could have made.

Speaking to Rotherham’s official media after he moved on loan, he said: “I knew of the interest of Rotherham and obviously other teams, but I thought this was the best for me.

“I feel like I need the next step. I need this challenge to test myself and put myself into uncomfortable positions, and hopefully I’ll, I’ll become a better player in person from it.

“The physicality is the first thing that jumps out, the intensity as well. But yeah, going into a senior environment as well, it’ll all be beneficial for me.”

Biancheri’s choice is a clear response to Amorim’s academy jibe

Instead, he’s going through the grind of lower league English football to make a name for himself at Old Trafford.

This is in stark contrast to Amorim’s comments about the academy, where he complained about a culture of players getting mollycoddled, resulting in them not being able to take criticism.

Not only did Biancheri raise his game when Obi was brought in to compete with him, but he’s also taking the brutal route to prove his steely mentality.

This is not a player who wants to take the easy way out, something which Amorim carelessly generalised about the whole academy during his time at the club.

Furthermore, Biancheri could have easily made a case to have already been handed a senior debut at United, but it never arrived under Amorim when Sesko was injured.

Despite all these setbacks and challenges, Biancheri has continued to work hard in an effort to realise his United dream, with his latest move to Rotherham sending a clear response to Amorim’s jibe about the academy’s “soft” mentality.
