When asked how difficult it will be to pick up his players heading into Saturday’s game against West Ham, Parker said: “It's been like that for the majority of the year, there's no denying that.

“It's a together group, of course it is, but we need to understand first and foremost tonight you can lose football matches [in this manner].
“When you're Burnley, the facts are coming up from the Championship, in this division you can lose football matches. The way we lost tonight is something that is really unacceptable.
“For 20 years of my career I used to cross a line, I used to wake up every morning and before I went out and crossed that line, there were certain things that I knew I could do.
“I could let myself down with a bad performance, I could miss an opportunity in terms of something technical or someone just gets the better of me. The one thing that you always knew and you can always guarantee in my teams as well is there's an understanding of what a game of football first and foremost needs and that is a desire at times, that's a passion, that is the basics of duels and showing intent about us and it wasn't there tonight.”
