Aston Villa ‘dream of signing’ specific player – Emery’s side to offer favourable terms

Aston Villa are among the clubs in the picture to sign Real Madrid’s Gonzalo García in the summer.

Four months ago, claims from Italy explained Aston Villa, West Ham United and Fulham were ready to challenge AC Milan. This was regarding the winter market, but the 21-year-old is still at Real Madrid.

Bernabéu Digital, a website dedicating its coverage on Real Madrid, now covers the latest on Aston Villa. Their title says Unai Emery’s side ‘dream of signing’ the forward.

Within the report, it focuses on the Premier League side’s plan to bring him to Villa Park in the summer.

The Spain U21 international is a product of Los Blancos’ youth system. He made his way into their first team during the 2023/24 season but only started to enjoy more minutes this season.

García has played 784 minutes from 25 matches, scoring five goals and contributing two assists. The outlet says his ‘stock has risen considerably’ recently and only mentions the Birmingham club as an interested party.

Aston Villa plan to offer weighted deal

Bernabéu Digital, who make it clear it’s their own information, have found out that Aston Villa are keen on signing him. Emery’s side plan to bring the player to Villa Park via a similar deal to what Como used to sign Nico Paz in August 2024.

Real Madrid reportedly sold Paz to the Serie A side for €6m. Earlier claims from Spain said Los Blancos have a buyback option of €9m and €10m for 2026 and 2027 respectively.

Aston Villa would be offering a similar formula to sign García after this season. However, the Spanish giants’ stance now is not to let him leave. The report indicates there’s still time for Emery’s side to try and convince Real Madrid.
