U21 head coach Daniels spoke to the media after the game and said he was proud of the team’s performance after only one training session under the trio.
Their side was the more dominant of the two on Humberside, and Daniels said after the game: "For me, it was a really good performance. I thought the lads understood what we asked of them tactically and with the energy they played with, the quality they showed.
"For me, the only thing missing from that performance was a goal.

"Imran [Louza, who missed a big first half chance] is a little bit down after the chance but his overall performance, along with the whole team, was outstanding this evening.
"They're all disappointed they didn't get the win, but in terms of the performance I think we're really happy."
Daniels said it was a night he would remember fondly as his first in charge of a senior team.
"Of course [I feel personal pride], I'd be lying if I said I didn’t,” he said.
"It's what I want to do, ultimately. For me to get this match out of the way, OK not with the result we wanted but to get a performance like we have done, I'm really pleased."
