Man Utd have made an addition at youth level to bolster their options.
Manchester United have signed teenage goalkeeper Solomon Honor from Blackburn Rovers. The 19-year-old has moved to United on a permanent deal and is expected to provide competition at U21s level.
Honor spent eight years playing for Man City before he moved to Blackburn back in 2021. He immediately gained regular playing time for Blackburn at U18s level but has spent the previous two campaigns as part of their U21 set-up.
He was on the Blackburn bench when they shocked United with an impressive 4-0 away win earlier in the season and made his only Premier League 2 appearance to date in a 4-1 loss against Reading earlier in the month. He missed their subsequent 5-0 victory over Birmingham ahead of his proposed move to Manchester. Honor has gained valuable senior experience during loan spells with both Clitheroe and Atherton Collieries.

Manchester United sign Solomon Honor
Manchester United have completed the signing of Solomon Honor from Championship side Blackburn Rovers. The 19-year-old’s move was confirmed on social media by his agency Harwick Sports, who uploaded a graphic to their Instagram page confirming the transfer.
Due to his age, Honor is expected to offer competition at U21s level where he will battle Elyh Harrison, William Murdock and Dermot Mee for regular playing time. Murdock has made nine appearances for the side this season, while Mee has made three and predominantly featured as a reserve option for the first team.
It will be interesting to see how the dynamic unfolds after Harrison was recalled from his loan move at Shrewsbury Town last month and did not depart on another temporary deal. The 19-year-old started the season well for the League Two club, but was eventually frozen out and only returned to the line up for their 6-1 thrashing against Wolves in the FA Cup.
When he was officially recalled from his loan on 15 January, the Shropshire club said: “Elyh Harrison has returned to Manchester United following his loan spell. The young goalkeeper featured nine times in all competitions and we thank him for his efforts in our colours. Best of luck for the rest of your career, Elyh!”
