Raith Rovers gaffer Dougie Imrie has revealed how he learned from household managerial names including Jose Mourinho, Ange Postecoglou and David Moyes while successfully achieving his UEFA Pro Licence, the highest coaching certification available in Europe.
Imrie, 42, who graduated in June 2025 after completing the two-year course, told Raith TV: "The Pro Licence is a wonderful course. You visit some really fascinating places, you speak to some really good people.
"We went to Romania for the under-21 European Championship, went to Geneva for four days for a UEFA convention.
"There was a lot of learning and really intense.
"It was a very good learning experience.
"I think the most important thing for any coach and manager is to make your sessions enjoyable.
"As a player you hate to go into work knowing that the sessions might not be that good.
"Or when you went in and you saw the pitch set up, you knew what was coming.
"So I try to chop and change every day so the players are getting new things.
"Maybe the same session but different ways of putting it across.
"And just challenging the players every day to be better.
"The biggest thing is standards. If the players go below their good standards it can come back to bite them in this league.
