United's resurgent hero scoops major accolade after producing masterclass to put Fulham to the sword

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has netted a prestigious award following his stunning display in last weekend’s 3-2 victory over Fulham.

Casemiro dazzles

Casemiro produced a man-of-the-match performance as United secured a dramatic late win to keep themselves within the guaranteed Champions League places.

He broke the deadlock in the 19th minute as he headed home a sublime delivery from Bruno Fernandes.

The Brazilian turned provider moments after the break, executing a breathtaking no-look pass to Matheus Cunha, who smashed the ball into the back of the net from a tight angle.

A Raul Jimenez penalty and Kevin’s screamer threatened to spoil the party for United, but Benjamin Sesko came on from the bench to deliver the final, decisive blow.

Sesko pounced on Fernandes’ driven cross, pivoting in one motion to fire a shot past a rooted Bernd Leno.

Beyond his goal and assist, Casemiro won five of the seven ground duels he delved into and won all his challenges in the air. He also made three clearances and as many recoveries.
