Kalvin Phillips
Leeds United ended the January transfer window with one official addition to the first team. What was expected to be an exciting window ended in disappointment for most of the fanbase.
Some expected this to happen after what happened in the summer window. Fans waited for something big to happen on deadline day and were disappointed when nothing materialized. Leeds only managed to add Facundo Buonanotte to the first team, to replace Jack Harrison who left the club on loan.

The big talking point in January was the move for Jorgen Strand Larsen; Leeds United were confident of signing the striker but lost out at the end. The 49ers wanted a loan with an obligation to buy in the summer to structure their deal financially after the PSR cut-off. But Palace were ready to pay the fee upfront for Wolves, and they ended up with the Norwegian striker.
Kalvin Phillips makes shocking admission after Sheffield United move
One club who ended up with a lot of former Leeds United players during the window was Sheffield United. Chris Wilder managed to recruit Joe Rothwell, Leo Hjelde and Kalvin Phillips on deadline day. Phillips was the biggest name of the three, especially since he has been constantly linked with a return to Elland Road over the last year. Leeds were never in for the midfielder, but fans were a bit pained that he joined a rival club.
And their pain would turn to confusion after a video circulated about Kalvin Phillips after he joined the Blades. In a social media post on Twitter/X, the 30-year old was given a series of quick fire questions to answer. When he was asked about his favourite footballing memory, he said it was winning the treble with Manchester City.

Comment will not go down well with Leeds fans
It may be a personal moment to celebrate to Kalvin Phillips, but a lot of Leeds United fans were outraged by the answer. Phillips was a big part of the club under Marcelo Bielsa; he became a starter in the team, won promotion and earned England caps, even winning National Team Player of the Year in Leeds colours. But putting all that aside and saying that a treble win, which he barely featured in, was his favourite memory will surely not go down well in South Yorkshire.
