Leeds United will be without Anton Stach for between 10 and 14 days due to a hip issue, meaning he will miss Friday’s clash with Nottingham Forest and the visit to Chelsea next Tuesday.

The midfielder suffered a muscle injury that kept him out of the recent win over Fulham and is now set for more time on the sidelines, after starting both of his games upon return. It could mean that Sean Longstaff, back from a calf injury, is therefore handed his first start since November.

Meanwhile, Lukas Nmecha is likely to miss the clash against Forest, with the striker yet to recover from his hamstring issue. There is a small chance he makes the cut with two days left until the game, but his inclusion seems doubtful.

More positively, Jaka Bijol is back in Leeds training, rejoining group sessions as of Thursday. The defender has not played the last three games, his last outing coming at Derby County in the FA Cup.

James Justin has shaken off his toe issue and is in contention to play on Friday. His versatility has been vital for Leeds amid their switch to a 3-5-2 formation, with the £8m summer signing playing right-back, right-centre-back and left-back since joining.

Daniel James might make the squad for the first time since coming off injured at half time against Manchester City - the game in which Farke first deployed a 3-5-2 - with a hamstring injury.

His place in the squad is not assured, though, given Leeds’ form and with an extra body to compete with amid the arrival of Facundo Buonanotte.
