Bruno Fernandes demanded apology from referee now confirmed for Man United vs Tottenham

The Premier League have confirmed the referee appointment for Manchester United’s upcoming clash against Tottenham.

Michael Carrick will be hoping to make it four wins from four in his spell as Manchester United interim head coach when Tottenham visit Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

So far, Carrick has proven he can beat world-class managers, and his next task is to face another ‘Big Six’ competitor in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have already climbed to fourth in the Premier League table, and that is in spite of United’s terrible luck this season.

Several VAR decisions have gone against United, and Carrick will hope to avoid more of the same on Saturday. However, the referee appointment is sure to cause controversy.

Mark Clattenburg called Oliver the ‘best referee’ in the Premier League, but United fans may have bleak memories of matches under him, especially against Tottenham.

Back in 2023, United lost 2-0 to Tottenham and Oliver made a controversial decision to deny United a penalty for a handball offence by Cristian Romero.
