The former Man United wonderkid made his debut for the club under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

But Solskjaer didn’t get it right every time. There was one Man United wonderkid who became a real flop. He’s just been released after playing for just five minutes at a club in the Championship.

Ex-Man United star Brandon Williams released

Brandon Williams made his debut for Man United as an 18-year-old under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after impressing in the U18s and U21s sides as an academy product. Williams ended up making 51 appearances for United in total, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

However, after struggling to get into the team, he has loan spells with Norwich and Ipswich Town before leaving as a free agent in July 2024. Williams joined Championship side Hull City in August after not playing for a year, as he impressed for them in training and in pre-season.

But it didn’t work out for Williams, as Hull City released him this week. A club statement read: “Hull City can confirm that full-back Brandon Williams has left the club by mutual agreement. We would like to thank Brandon for his efforts during his time at the MKM Stadium and wish him all the best for his future career.”

The worst thing for Williams is that he came on for five minutes in a game against Blackburn Rovers in August, and hasn’t played a minute since, getting released after just five minutes of game time since the start of the season. He’ll now look for his next move to hopefully kickstart his career again.

Man United sign Championship wonderkid

Honor is actually a former Man City academy product, as he spent eight years playing for the Cityzens, but he now finds himself in the youth system at Old Trafford, hoping to become the latest United wonderkid to break into the first team.

The 19-year-old has made 24 appearances for Blackburn’s youth teams, conceding 48 goals, and keeping one clean sheet. Those numbers don’t sound impressive, but when you consider that there are a lot more goals in youth team matches, they really aren’t bad for a young talent.
