Lorenzo Lucca joined Nottingham Forest from Napoli some weeks ago.
The Italian arrived on an initial loan with an option to buy, having failed to impress in the first half of this season.
The striker comes in with a point to prove at Nottingham Forest, ahead of the FIFA World Cup. Good performances for the Premier League side can help him feature for Italy, who have already seen him feature last year.
It is now emerging that this won’t just help the player but Napoli too.
Il Mattino – relayed by CalcioNapoli1926, report that the 25-year-old’s possible sale will be huge for the Partenopei.
They found themselves in a difficult situation in January. They could only make signings only if they moved players. This was a regulation imposed by FIGC largely because of their spendings in the past.
Now, they are sincerely hoping that Lucca joins Nottingham Forest permanently. They would also want Noa Lang to do well at Galatasaray as this can hand them a heap of finances. That would be used to bolster Antonio Conte’s squad.
Besides, Napoli have already signed Giovane and Allison Santos. Next season, Rasmus Hojlund will also be signed permanently. That is another reason why Lucca and Lang will have to be sold.
The hope in Naples is that the ex-Udinese makes a mark at Nottingham Forest and Sean Dyche’s side land him permanently.
