Reuell Walters made the move to Blackpool on loan from Luton Town on Deadline Day.
Former Blackpool defender Rob Edwards passed on a positive review of one of the club’s Deadline Day signings.
Reuell Walters made the move to Bloomfield Road on loan from Luton Town for the remainder of the campaign earlier this week.
Game time at Kenilworth Road had been limited for the 21-year-old in the first half of the season, with just four League One appearances coming his way.
Despite that, Seasiders head coach Ian Evatt believes the wing-back possesses the qualities his side need, and received some consultation from Wolves boss Edwards before the deal was complete.
“This is the first transfer window I’ve been involved in at this club, and I understand supporters when they’re not necessarily sure of who someone is or have seen them play before, but I can assure you there was a a lot of diligent work behind-the-scenes to know he’d be a good fit for us,” he said.
“Obviously one of my good friends in football (Rob Edwards), who this club knows very well, had him at Luton and spoke incredibly highly of him.
“We’ve done a lot of diligent work, and we’re confident the supporters will see exactly what he can do.
“I can reference Conor Bradley and Danny Imray for instance. When we initially signed them, the clubs wouldn’t have known what they were going to get, but pretty much they fall in love with them quickly when they see what a good player they are. I think we’ll see the same things with Reuell.”

The main area Blackpool focussed on during Deadline Day was the midfield, with Karoy Anderson and Leighton Clarkson both being added to Evatt’s ranks, while Lee Evans headed out in the opposite direction - joining Bradford City on a permanent deal until the end of the season.
“The January window is always challenging because you want to make decisions for the long-term, but also for the short-term,” the Seasiders head coach added.
“Leighton was a decision for this football club moving forwards, and how we want to do things, but also the short-term fixes with Karoy (Anderson) and Reuell (Walters) will really help us.
“Football changes quickly, with midfield players getting injured and Lee Evans moving on - it changed the dynamic a little bit and enabled us to bring in the players we have.
“It’s players we needed with different skillsets to what we already had in the building, and I’m looking forward to working with them.”
