The left-back was left out of Burnley’s squad for the second week running on Monday night during the 3-0 defeat to Sunderland.
The Dutchman hasn’t started a league game since Fulham in mid-December, and he only started on that occasion because Lucas Pires was out missing through suspension.
Hartman fuelled speculation over a potential move towards the back end of the January transfer window when he was spotted in the stands watching Burnley’s sister club Espanyol.
But the window has now closed and the 24-year-old remains at Turf Moor.
Speaking after Monday night’s defeat at the Stadium of Light, Parker admitted it’s been a “sticky” few weeks.

“He just wasn't in the squad tonight, just in terms of the decision,” he told the Burnley Express.
“He's still here and getting back up to speed now. Obviously, it’s been a bit sticky the last few weeks, so we need to get him back up to speed now.”
Besiktas were linked with Hartman’s services last month, while Ajax – fierce rivals of his former club Feyenoord – were also said to hold an interest.
Once news emerged of Ajax’s reported interest, Hartman began to receive criticism on social media from supporters of his former side.
