Newcastle have to start considering the future of Eddie Howe as manager after a disappointing season, with Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola a target for the Magpies.
Newcastle currently find themselves sitting in 11th place in the Premier League table, eight points away from the Champions League places. The North East club have also been knocked out of the Carabao Cup after a dismal two-legged display against Manchester City, with their chances of a trophy this season dwindling.
Newcastle have struggled with handling European football alongside the Premier League, despite bringing in a host of players in the summer transfer window to improve their depth. It's something the Magpies have found difficult under Howe, which possibly hints that he's taken them as far as they can go.

Although Newcastle have produced some impressive results in the Champions League, it's clear to see that they are massively struggling when trying to compete in multiple competitions at once. Howe certainly has credit in the bank after delivering a long-awaited trophy to St James' Park, but there's an argument to suggest he's taken them as far as he can.
If Newcastle want to go to the next level, regularly competing for trophies and performing in Europe as well as the Premier League, it's time for them to head in a new direction.
GIVEMESPORT sources have confirmed that Newcastle are eyeing Bournemouth manager Iraola as a possible replacement, and that could be the ideal route for them to go down. Iraola has experience in working with young players at Bournemouth, and in overachieving with the players he has at his disposal.
Described as the 'best young coach in the world' by Sky Sports pundit Sam Tighe, speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Iraola style of play shouldn't need too much of an adaptation period, and Newcastle should be looking to bring him in with things looking stale under Howe.

Howe Has Little Excuse This Season

Newcastle's Saudi owners are highly ambitious, spending significantly in the summer transfer window to help improve the squad. Over the last five years, the Magpies have the fifth-highest net spend in the Premier League, but they are certainly not performing like a side who have had heavy investment.
In the summer, Newcastle brought in the likes of Nick Woltemade, Yoane Wissa, Jacob Murphy, Anthony Elanga, and Malick Thiaw, but they've only gone backwards. As mentioned, Howe has credit in the bank, but he's taken them as far as he can.
