Casemiro says Kobbie Mainoo has a trait in training that is 'the same' as Bruno Fernandes

Casemiro has been discussing the competitive nature in the Manchester United dressing room, especially in training, where he has noticed similarities between Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo.

It cannot be denied that the mood has improved at Manchester United since the beginning of January, when Ruben Amorim was sacked for poor results.

Michael Carrick was appointed United head coach over three weeks ago, and he is now preparing to make it four wins in as many games when the Red Devils host Tottenham in the Premier League.

Are you ANNOYED that Ruben Amorim never sent a message to the fans after being sacked?

The players look like a weight has been lifted off their shoulders, and they find themselves in a strong position (fourth) to compete for one of the Champions League spots, which they need to qualify for Europe’s most prestigious competition.

The key players need to stand up in the remaining 14 matches to give United the best chance of achieving their season objective. It bodes well that there are so many competitive players in the squad, determined to correct the mistakes the team made in previous years.

Casemiro compares Kobbie Mainoo to Bruno Fernandes

Carrick has made some changes to the team since becoming head coach.

From switching to a back four system to starting Kobbie Mainoo in every game so far, the 44-year-old has yet to settle on his best line-up, and it could change weekly depending on injuries and suspensions.

Mainoo did not start a single Premier League game under Amorim this season, but he’s already started in three under Carrick.

The United academy graduate is performing at a high standard, and now, Casemiro has revealed that Mainoo is one of the most competitive players in training.

In a TikTok video for JD Sports, Casemiro names the most competitive players in the squad, including Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez.

“Bruno is competitive,” said Casemiro.

“And Mainoo, who I think is the same. I love playing in our team.”

This, of course, bodes well for a young player who is trying to prove himself as a regular in the United team.

Casemiro also hailed Diogo Dalot for “working hard” in training.

He added: “I think everyone has a good attitude here.”

Interestingly, Bryan Mbeumo named Joshua Zirkzee as the most competitive player in training when asked in a recent interview.

United fans will hope to see that competitive shine over the coming weeks. The next test will see Tottenham come to Old Trafford on Sunday.

Man Utd boost strong Premier League record with Kobbie Mainoo

The most telling Mainoo stat right now is United have a 100% win rate in the Premier League this season when he has started.

Three starts followed by three wins.

Carrick won’t be making any changes to his midfield unless he is forced to, with Mainoo already cementing the spot alongside Casemiro.

It’s an amazing stat when you consider Mainoo could still be waiting for his first league start of the campaign if Amorim was still in charge.
