Now without a league win in 15 games, the Clarets find themselves 11 points adrift of safety ahead of Saturday’s clash against fellow strugglers West Ham.

Elsewhere down at the bottom end of the table, bottom side Wolves were beaten 2-0 at home by Bournemouth.

The Hammers squandered a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 at London rivals Chelsea, while Leeds United were beaten convincingly by champions-elect Arsenal.

Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, held on with 10 men to draw 1-1 with Crystal Palace.
