Ben Foster has now singled out Luke Shaw after the Manchester United and England defender’s important interaction with one key first-team star at Old Trafford.
The 42-year-old former Manchester United and England shot-stopper shared his two cents on the Red Devils’ latest outing under interim head coach Michael Carrick.
Michael Carrick watched on from the Old Trafford dugout last Sunday as Man Utd completed a sensational 3-2 win over Fulham in their thrilling Premier League clash.

The 44-year-old United legend has led the Red Devils to three consecutive Premier League wins since his return to Old Trafford as interim manager last month.
Casemiro had opened the scoring in the first half after heading home from a Bruno Fernandes free-kick before Matheus Cunha put Man Utd 2-0 up against Fulham.
However, Fulham fought back against United late in the second half and Marco Silva’s men pulled level after Raul Jimenez and Kevin both netted at Old Trafford.

Ben Foster drops the ultimate praise on Man Utd and Portugal ace Bruno Fernandes
Michael Carrick’s men were able to avoid dropping Premier League points last Sunday afternoon, with Benjamin Sesko netting an injury-time winner for his side.
Bruno Fernandes crossed a dangerous low ball from the right side of the Fulham box and an unmarked Benjamin Sesko pounced on the opportunity for the Red Devils.

When asked if Fernandes doesn’t receive ‘enough respect,’ pundit Ben Foster dropped his clear-cut assessment about the 31-year-old Manchester United captain.
“No, because he does a few too many things, which are a bit too flary and there’s always a bit of a talk around him, but he is a world-class player,” he said on the Fozcast podcast.
“The numbers are a joke.”

Ben Foster on what Luke Shaw did with Bruno Fernandes during Man Utd’s 3-2 Premier League win over Fulham
Foster added that Luke Shaw caught his eye for how he went over to celebrate with Fernandes instead of Benjamin Sesko and Co after the injury-time winner last week.
“For the winning goal, Luke Shaw, like Benjamin Sesko scored and it’s like an unbelievable moment for everybody, should be so happy,” he continued.
“Luke Shaw literally went straight past him and straight to Bruno Fernandes just to say, ‘You are the man.’ Honestly, it was incredible.”

Following Fernandes’ two assists for Man Utd against Fulham, Foster insisted that he feels the Portugal international’s abilities were unquestionable on the pitch.
“No, yeah,” he added.
“It’s just that there’s moments sometimes where there’s a bit too much chatter around it, which detracts from the actual football part of it.”
Fernandes has scored five times and has 13 assists to his name in 23 matches across all competitions for Man Utd in the 2025-26 campaign so far.
