Jude Bellingham was in tears when he came off with an injury while playing for Real Madrid last weekend.
The attacking midfielder was hauled off after just nine minutes against Rayo Vallecano. He received a pass from teammate Franco Mastantuono before dropping to the ground, clutching his left leg in pain.
With tears running down his face, fans and teammates alike were worried he had injured his hamstring; an injury of that magnitude, if severe, would be a season-ending one, and destroy his hopes of leading the line for England at the World Cup this summer.

Now, Real Madrid have shared an update on Bellingham’s condition, and when he might be back in action.
A club spokesperson said: “He has been diagnosed with a semitendinosus muscle injury in his left leg.”

It’s thought Bellingham will be sidelined for the next month, missing three league matches against Valencia, Real Sociedad and Osasuna, as well as both legs of Madrid’s Champions League play-offs against Benfica.
If all goes to plan, he would be back in action by March 1, when Real Madrid play against Getafe at home. Fortunately, his absence will not impact his World Cup chances, with Bellingham expected to be among the first names on Thomas Tuchel’s teamsheet at the tournament.
