Andre Onana is “expected to leave” Man Utd on a permanent basis at the end of the season, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Cameroon international is currently on loan at Turkish Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor, but Romano says the Red Devils have already decided that he will be sold on his return this summer:
“Who’s going to leave the club? For sure, in the summer, it’s going to be Andre Onana.”

“Onana is on loan at Trabzonspor, and Man Utd’s decision is already quite clear. They’re not expected to continue with Onana next summer. The idea is to part ways and find a solution.”
The Man Utd keeper won’t be re-signed by his former team
Onana has been tipped to return to Inter Milan. United paid £47.2m to bring in the goalkeeper from the Serie A giants in 2023, but Romano has played down the speculation that he could move back to Italy:
“There were reports in England about a potential return to Inter. I’m not aware about that. His agents were in Milan, yes, but his agents are in a powerful agency who are working on several deals and they were in Milan on separate topics, not for an Inter move [for Onana].”
“But there will be several clubs interested in Onana. He’ll assess all his options and what I can tell you today is that Onana is expected to leave Manchester United and to try a different kind of experience in the 2026/27 season.”
Inter are tipped to sign a former Man Utd target instead
Rather than pursue Onana, it looks like the Nerazzurri could make a move for Aston Villa’s number one Emi Martinez.
The Argentinian international was heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford last summer, but the club’s recruitment team opted to buy Senne Lammens.
Martinez has been angling to leave Villa for a while, but like Onana, it does appear as if both could secure exits away from the Premier League over the coming months.
