Albion duo in the running for Premier League prizes

Charalampos Kostoulas has been shortlisted for goal of the month after his overhead kick against Bournemouth.

And Yasin Ayari is in the running for player of the month after two goals and two assists in the month.

Kostoulas caused shockwaves through the Prem with his stunning goal to secure a point against the Cherries.

That has been shortlisted alongside goals by Ollie Watkins, Harrison Reed, Joao Palhinha, Mateus Fernandes, Patrick Dorgu, Matheus Cunha and Junior Kroupi.

Ironically, another fine piece of play by Kostoulas has helped Ayari to his nomination.

The Greek teen stepped over a pass to allow Pascal Gross to score against Everton and give Ayari one of his two assists last month.

He also passed for Kaoru Mitoma at Manchester City to add to fine strikes against Burnley and Fulham.

The Prem nomination says Ayari “has quietly established himself as a key player for Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler”.

He is up against Dorgu, Enzo Fernandes, Kroupi, Crysencio Summerville, Igor Thiago, Florian Wirtz and Harry Wilson, whose nomination is helped by his stoppage-time free-kick for Fulham against the Seagulls.

Fans can vote for their goal and pplayer of the month via the Premier League website.
