John Terry auctions jerseys including Cristiano Ronaldo Man Utd shirt

Former England captain John Terry has auctioned off some of the prized memorabilia he collected over his storied career, including shirts worn by ex Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The former England and Chelsea defender, who won five Premier Leagues and FA Cups and one Champions League title, will be donating a portion of the more than £500k raised to charity. As well as opponents' shirts, the 45-year-old sold several of his own match-worn kits from finals - as well as trophy replicas, shin-pads and captain's armbands.

Terry consigned the collection to international auctioneers Goldin, with proceeds from the sale - which garnered a total of nearly $700,000 (£508,000) - going to the John Terry Foundation. The sale also broke several records for the highest amount paid for a certain player's jersey. Each price includes a buyer's premium.
