Leicester City have been docked six points by the EFL for breaching financial rules after they were charged by the Premier League in May for a profit and sustainability (PSR) breach in the three years leading up to 2023-24.
The deduction is applied immediately meaning they fall from 17th to 20th in the table and put another body between us and the bottom three.
Under PSR, Premier League clubs cannot lose more than £105m over a three year period, Leicester lost almost double that. A six point deduction sounds light to me.
The Premier League were pushing for a much bigger points fine, and looks as if the EFL have bottled it. Leicester are considering their options.
As always we have to do what we can do, but that win last weekend has just become even more important.
