Albion reveal target date for Kirby return as they prepare for Hammers

But it will not be away to West Ham in the WSL on Sunday.

The former England star has been absent in recent weeks, missing the 1-0 win at Everton and an unfortunate 2-1 home defeat by London City Lionesses.

Interim boss Chris Roberts said: “She’s going to miss this weekend and is likely going to miss the Arsenal game as well.

“Hopefully have her back for the FA Cup game, that’s certainly the target we’re working towards.

“Of course we lost Michelle [Agyemang] earlier in the season.

“We also have the Asia Cup and the AFCON coming as well so we’ll have a few more go out in February, March as well.

“We will maybe be slightly lighter than we’d like but we also have a lot of quality and depth through other parts of the squad that we’ll need to utilise.”

Albion host Arsenal a week on Sunday and then return to West Ham in the cup.

Kirby was a target for Juventus in the transfer window but remained on board in what turned out to be a quiet month for the Seagulls.

Albion have created chances in her absence, especially against City when they fekt they should haver had some reward.

Head coach Dario Vidosic remains away from the squad due to his father Rado’s recent death in Australia.
