Crysencio Summerville’s stock continues to soar after the Dutch winger was shortlisted for the Premier League Player of the Month award for January 2026—becoming the first West Ham United player nominated this season.
The timing couldn’t be more telling, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealing that multiple top clubs are circling for the No7’s signature. But for now, he remains a Hammer—and one in electric form.
Summerville kicked off January by helping force an own goal at the City Ground, whipping in a corner that Tomáš Souček flicked on before Nottingham Forest defender Murillo plopped it into his own net. From there, he simply exploded.
Summerville found the net in four consecutive matches including crucial Premier League victories over Tottenham Hotspur (2-1) and Sunderland (3-1), plus an FA Cup win against QPR.
His goal at Chelsea, where he made it 2-0 with a thumping finish, was his third in as many league games, underlining his growing importance to the Irons.

Statistically, January was Summerville’s strongest Premier League month to date, and the nomination is a fitting reward. He now joins a shortlist that includes names from Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Brighton, but there’s a strong case for the Hammer to take the crown.
Crysencio has been in outstanding form since his disallowed goal against Forest and this is richly deserved.
