Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Leeds United had a very disappointing end to a promising January window. Fans were initially excited when moves were being made, but the winter window ended just like the summer window did.
In both instances, the club had a major target on the table, tried to sign them and wasted their time while the deadline passed. Leeds had a bid rejected for Harry Wilson on deadline day in the summer, and in the January window, it was Jorgen Strand Larsen.

The Whites pursued the Norwegian striker for a few weeks, with the 49ers seeing him as a priority signing. However, in the end, the structure of the deal is what lead to Wolves rejecting the deal. Crystal Palace eventually swooped in and signed the striker.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain set to join new club
Leeds did get reinforcements, with the 49ers going out and signing Facundo Buonanotte. The midfielder pushed for the deal, with both parties getting in contact around December. Buonanotte cut short his loan and moved to Elland Road till the end of the season.
One name that was also linked with a move to West Yorkshire since the summer is Alex Oxlade-Charmberlain. After his contract ended with Besiktas in Turkey, the England midfielder set his sights on a return to action. It was believed he had an eye on a return to the Premier League, but the 32-year old has found a new club. The former Liverpool midfielder’s next destination is Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will go from almost joining one club under the 49ers, to directly competing with another club under the 49ers – Rangers.

Leeds United could have done with more January signings
Daniel Farke could have done with more than one signing in this recent window; the Whites needed depth in attack and in the defence. A recent injury to Joe Rodon showed just how thin the options at center back were. At one point in the window, there were reports that the club had planned to add a defender.
But ultimately, the 49ers pursued attacking reinforcements in Buonanotte and Strand Larsen. They only landed one of the two, leaving the club to gamble on the fitness of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha for the rest of the season. Ultimately, the end of the season will determine if this gamble paid off or not.
